So Siemens is working on a system that allows traffic lights and cars to interface. This would allow "lights turn green as you approach or you receive a warning when a car's speed suggests it will run a red light" So my car will know how long the light will stay green, and can tell me, for example, that I need to be going 93 mph in order to make it through a light 3000 feet away that will change in 21 seconds. Yes, I think this system would make me drive more safely.
