This is a pretty cool idea and its even cooler that its in trashcans all over DC right now. Really. Its bomb absorbing bubble wrap. It'll absorb the yield from 12 pounds of high explosives and suppress the flame. Pretty much a good idea, especially if you're worried about people dropping incendiaries in metro trashcans. okay great, now I'll have to remember NOT to put my bomb in a trash can on the metro... I'll just leave it in the middle fo the car when I get off the train...come on...is this really worth the cost of thousands fo installations? If you want to dress the bomb squad in this stuff, fine, but every trash can? puuuuuleeese.
Actually, it must be being used in Metro STATIONS, as the TRAINS no longer have trashcans at all "for your safety." Otherwise, yeah, c'mon.
